We cook a breakfast so we end up with a 8:00 start to the trail with Rob Law leading the way. It was a steep hike out Dean Cow but it leveled off after the first hour then down hill the rest of the day. We stopped at Santa Clause Camp in hopes that we might meet Chris Grant's crew at this junction because it would be the last spot that our paths could cross. We waited for a half hour and decided to leave a note. We gave the note to the staff and they had stated that Chris's crew changed
their plans and were camping down in the field at Santa Clause. We went down and met with them for a half hour and everything was going good for them too. It was really neat that we were able to meet the other crews on the trail. We left them and headed out. With a slight side trip we made it out of camp and down hill to Dean Cow. We ate lunch at Upper Dean Cow and continued to hike on. On this trail we probably crossed the river the most. Each time you cross a river, the last person yells "all clear", Mr. F must of said that a hundred times this day. He added an extra part after a while which was "if anyone cares". This little phrase kind of stuck with Mr. F after awhile. Mr. Kirkland would not let him cross a river without saying the all clear. Got to Dean Cow around 2:00. Made arrangements for Rock Climbing at 3:00 but is was moved to 4:00 because of the traditional afternoon rain. During the rain our sister crews advisor stood in the Red Roof Inn and after about a half hour of rain yells across the road, "I hope Tommy has my tent set up or I will be very disappointed". Poor guy did not want to go out in the rain and get wet. Rob, Rob and Mr. F stayed back to cook dinner again in order for the crew to make it to the evening program again. Nathan had an extra duty after the rock climbing which included the mending of his shorts that he ripped. After evening duties were taken care of, we went to the climbing wall. Scott climbed the wall like a lizard. Everyone had fun even if they didn't make it to the top, most at least tried. Bedtime for Bonzo by 9:00 for tomorrow is a busy day and thunderstorms flash in the distance.
