Being a Good person

Sometimes the stories are not long, but meaningful.  I got this as an instant message one day, it means a lot to me.

I was on a path of self-destruction regardless. But for what it's worth, I appreciate everything you did. I have countless fond and fun memories of scouting, just wish I had appreciated it and taken in more seriously the last few years. So, I suppose what I'm trying to say is thank you!

It definitely instilled a lot of values in my life which got pushed to the back for quite a while until I realized, with some help, that life it SO much better when you try your best to be a good person rather than a shithead.
