Chapel in the pines

Another one of those camp projects was the Chapel at Robert S. Lyle that Troop 161 rebuilt.  The group in this picture (plus me) pretty much got it done in one weekend.  If you have ever drilled a hole with a power auger, you know the challenges you face can really kick your butt.  Rocks, sand, mud, roots more rocks etc.  This group of 7 people augered over 40 holes that were each 2-4 ft deep. I don’t know if I was ever so tired and sore as I was after that weekend.

The chapel in the pines was a peaceful place to quietly collect one's thoughts while at camp. I remember stopping at the chapel while T-161 leaders were installing benches, and marveled at yet again more hard work they did to improve camp for everyone. While helping the ReLYLEables group tear down camp after Lyle was sold, I was sad when working on a crew around the chapel.
