Ray Treu
When I as asked to be Scoutmaster, I was only 20 years old, not the legal age to be a Scoutmaster, Ray took the position from November to June when I would be 21. Not sure what I was thinking when I was that young agreeing to take on such a role, but I did. I owe Ray Treu a debt of gratitude for being there with me for many of the early years. He was there to be the Bad cop when needed and when the scouts nearly my age would not listen. He helped the scouts see me more as an adult than the youth I was. He drove on campouts in his Chevy Blazer with no passenger seat, and no seatbelts, something that would never happen today. We had a lot of fun together. At times he could be as mischievous as me and at times he taught me to be more mature. THANK YOUR Ray Treu for all you did to make me a successful Scoutmaster. Just like I say, every Scout is one bad meeting away from being a quitter, the same holds true as a leader too. Ray got me through those bad days in my early career.
