I randomly get notes and letters from Scouts, this is one of them
There is not I in TEAM.
Hi Mr. F first of all, I would like to thank you for writing to me, if you went back in time three or four years ago and told me I was going to join the military, I wouldn't believe you, nothing that I have done so far has been too dangerous, although I do have to carry an M-16 with me everywhere I go.
This experience has given me even more appreciation than I had for scouting before and I had a lot of appreciation before. I need you to push my brothers harder and test them however, you can to make them better leaders than they already are. I honestly believe that if you are pushed by everyone in their lives they can do more than I have. You are nowhere near as bad as a drill sergeant. Those guys were born to be bad.
If you get time to go to the Fort Jackson website, this place is amazing and you could check it out. Exercise is pretty intense but fair, and if all I had to do was wash dishes, all day graduating would be easy. As for the sleeping accommodations they are pretty crappy, but me and my other guys get along pretty well so it's been easy-going. We all support each other and keep each other strong just like a team, that is something that scouting helped me learn. Now all the toilets here are flush toilets, Thank God, and we are required the shower every day after PT sessions. The food they serve here are all health food, but I'm starting to get a custom to it. It was good to hear from you thank you for the support. It means a lot to me.
