161 days of blogging just is not nearly enough time to thank everyone who made me a successful Scoutmaster. There are so many people I should thank but not sure everyone would be interested in reading them all, so as I come to the last few days left till I officially retire from the role of Scoutmaster I want to thank ALL OF THOSE who crossed my path and made me a successful Scoutmaster and Troop 161 an outstanding Troop. From those who were on my first committee who had faith in me, to those who provided me training over the years, to those who coached and counseled me to do the right thing. To all the committee members and parents that I had the privilege to serve with over the years, all taking part of the pie and making Troop 161 the most successful troop in the council for the longest time. A special shout out to all the committee chairmen who always worked with me side by side to administer the business side of Scouting.
We can all be proud, we have all done good!! The number of scouts in the troop, on the camp staff’s, the council and all who came to know Troop 161 have grown by the efforts of all who wore the Troop numerals on their uniform, wore a Troop red shirt or in their heart, I have been so blessed to know all of you and been able to work side by side with you over the years. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. YOU are the HEROS of the Troop, not me, I just was some of the duct tape that kept it all together sometimes. May we always be friends even after my scoutmaster days come to an end. I cherish the great friendships I have formed over these past 40 years. You will always be my second family.
