Happy New Year!
Happy New Years to everyone, 2014 is an exciting year coming up, we have all our regular things coming up this year plus a Trip to Philmont for some of our older Scouts, 2014 should be an exciting year!
Off to a slow cold start to the New Year.
As of this writing, Racine Unified has closed school for this Monday. Based our Troop guidebook, any day School is closed for the day because of the weather we also cancel Scouts. So THERE WILL BE NO MEETING THIS MONDAY. Seems like a long time since our last gathering but looks like that will have to wait, thanks to the weather. Be sure to stay warm Monday night at home.
Christmas Campout signup extended
Due to the cancelation of this Monday’s meeting, the early sign up for the Christmas campout (and other fees) will be extended to January 20, but it would be great if you can sign up ONLINE this week, we need to plan transportation for the campout and waiting till the 20th will leave the timing kind of short, so help out and sign up online. Also, any parents that can drive, please let us know. The Christmas campout usually has pretty good attendance, so we may need some help with driving.
Our Next Meeting
Well, this has been planned since our PLC meeting in December, we are going to have PATROL MEETINGS instead of Troop meeting on Monday January 13th. At the PLC we came up with a plan for the Patrol meeting in preparation of the Troop meeting on the 20th of January. Be sure to contact your Patrol Leader to find our when and where you will be having your Patrol meeting. Watch for more details for the plan for the meeting on the 20th.
In my many years of Scouting this might be the longest stretch I have gone without a Troop meeting in some time….. Miss you guys…
