Happy New Year!

Happy 2024!!  With the new year brings new things as well.  We are officially ScoutsBSA Troop 161  EAA Chapter 838 of Racine. Inc. After months of searching and planning the paperwork is signed and we are now sponsored by the EAA Chapter here in Racine.  We will still be meeting at St. Rita for a bit, but will eventually be moving to the new location (on Greenbay Rd).  Watch for future communication, but we will be taking a visit to the EAA soon, as we get this ready to move to the new location. We are waiting to confirm this, but we are hoping to have our Committee meeting there next week.   As part of joining the EAA, every family in the Troop will also be members of the EAA chapter and will have the benefits of the club as well. Each family should have gotten an invite email with a newsletter of upcoming events and such, you are welcome to be part of those outside the Troop activities. If you didn’t get the email, let me know, I know they had to resend mine, so you may not have gotten one.  Thanks to all who have made this happen, as I have said before, I think this is a great fit for us and look forward to the opportunities it has to offer.  We are creating a list of things that have to be updated and such, you will be seeing the new name on more and more things (like this BSB).  One of the things on that list is new T-shirts, so if you have a design idea, start thinking about it, we will be asking for ideas shortly.

ReCHARTER is done 

The yearly recharter is done, The cost is $92 Each for scouts, if you do not have $92 in your account, please bring the money on Monday and put it in your account.  The rest will have this fee withdrawn from your account after the wreath sales money has been distributed.

Monday’s Meeting

Monday’s meeting will be a fun-filled event with a cool project with Hydraulics. You won't want to miss it.

Parents Meeting

There will be a short parents meeting during the Troop meeting this Monday with the Committee Chairman Dave Lyon. The discussion will include the current and future state of the Troop. All Parents are requested to attend.

Winter Events

There is a new Event Fact sheet for our winter events. We have secured a cabin at Camp Sinawa located in Valders Wisconsin the weekend of February 9-11.   The Cost will be $40, We also planned a trip to the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry.  Check out the fact sheets in the above link
