Court of Honor This Week

This Monday is the Court of Honor. Meeting starts at 7 PM. Be sure to read your Court of Honor Handout Online and be ready to sign up for the upcoming events, remember you save when you sign up early.

Bring your wreath money

Don’t forget to bring your money from wreaths, yellow pages(s) and deposit slip. it helps if you can bring a check for all the cash that was collected, so we don’t have a bunch of money laying around. Make sure all checks are payable to Troop 161.

CPR Training

We will be having CPR training at CBTL on January 5th, if you are interested in taking this training, please see Mrs. Andersen. Remember scouts, this is required for some of the merit badges, so be sure to signup of if you plan on taking any of these merit badges.

Chicago Trip

Don’t forget this Monday is the last day to sign up for the Chicago Trip, you don’t want to miss out!

Camp Selection update

The PLC and the committee have been evaluating new summer camps for this summer. After evaluating over a dozen camps, then visiting a few camps we have decided on going to Camp Freeland Leslie, located in Oxford Wisconsin (near the Dells). This camp is one of the few camps that that offered Patrol Cooking in the sites. We will have a lot to learn and share about the camp and the sign up process. One thing that I noticed already was that med forms have to be sent to camp weeks before our arrival, so be sure you schedule your med exam sooner than later. We going to reserve a site for the week of July 17-23, 2016 but that has not been confirmed yet. Watch for more details coming out in the months ahead, pretty exciting to see the new adventures we will have at this new camp, ask your PLC members about it, they all visited the camp during the leadership training weekend.

Camp Savings Club

Camp can be expensive, especially when it comes to families with multiple scouts. In order to make this a little less challenging on the family budget we are offering a new program this year, called a Camp Saving Club. Mrs. Hardesty will set up a separate account that you can deposit money into on a weekly or monthly and make smaller payments rather than the one or two BIG payments, parents think of it as a Christmas saving club. The difference between this and your standard scout account is that if you deposit in this account, you can withdraw it back out if you decide not to go to camp. If you are interested, please let Mrs. Hardesty know and she will get it set up.

See you at the Court of Honor on Monday! Dont forget to print your handout

Thanks

Mr. F.
