Scouting for food

Don’t forget that Scouting for Food is THIS WEEKEND and next week. We will be meeting at St. Rita at 1 PM this Sunday (dont forget, to change your clocks on Sunday morning) and 9 AM Saturday March 19. We have a lot of bags to deliver so please plan on attending both this weekend and next weekend for pick up if you can do so.

Elections this Monday

We will have Troop elections this Monday at the Troop meeting. The new leaders of the Troop are looking forward to your vote on Monday.

Summer camp planning

First we ask that everyone bring their scout book this Monday along with a plan with what you want to work on at summer camp this summer. We will be getting people signed up for the merit badge work at camp to make sure you get enrolled in the sessions you want for the summer. Check out the Troop document area for the list of Summer Camp Merit Badge list.

New Scouts

New Scouts, we will get you started on some items for the Scout Badge on Monday night. Parents, as soon as we get the cross over fee and application, your son will get their scout book. One of the requirements is for the parent and the scout to discuss the youth protection section, as soon as you get those books, let’s make sure you get that done and signed off in the book so it does not hold up advancement for your son.

New family night

We will have a New Family Night on March 17th at 7 PM at CBTL (436 Four Mile Rd). We encourage all new families to attend this meeting and we will talk about how things work in Troop 161 so that you can get the best experience with Troop 161. All new families should plan on attending with your scout and at least one parent!

Annual Dinner

Don’t forget about the Annual Dinner and Eagle Court of Honor is March 19th, we will need some help getting things set up as well as during the dinner. Thanks for those who have signed up to help already, if not sure if you signed up you can still help. We will be meeting at the school gym at 1 PM Saturday March 19th. Please use the North doors.

High Adventure

High Adventure candidates (those in 7th grade or older), we will have a meeting on March 22nd to talk about where we want to go, plan on attending that meeting at 7:00 PM at CBTL. You can pay the deposit this week or wait till the 22nd.

Lock In

One of the highlight events of the spring is our Troop Lock-In, fact sheet is in the Court of Honor handout. Early payment date is this Monday night, be sure to get signed up for a great event!!

Camp Payments

Don’t forget camp fees will be due in April, but you can make smaller payments up to that day if you would like to spread out the total cost.

13th -Sunday at 1PM- Scouting for Food

14th – 7 PM Troop Meeting at St. Rita

17th – 7 PM New Family Night at CBTL

19th -9 AM Scouting for Food at 9 AM at St. Rita

19th – 1 PM Set up for Annual Dinner and Eagle Court of Honor at St. Rita School

19th – 5:45 Annual Dinner and Eagle Court of Honor at St. Rita School

21th – 7 PM Patrol Leaders Conference (PLC meeting) for Troop youth leaders, rest are off for the night. (note this is the 3rd Monday because of Easter)

22th -7 PM High Adventure night (7th grade or older) at CBTL

28th -7 PM Advancement night (optional) for those who want to work on advancement, new scouts are encouraged to attend if they are in town during Easter break)
