Winter Sports

Going to be a presentation on winter sport for this Monday’s meeting. Come and learn about your favorite winter sport, maybe even a play one too.

Times are a changing…

As the Troop ages some, there will be some transitions as some of the Leadership Corps will be turning 18 yrs. old in the next, several months. It is time to add some more scouts to Leadership Corps not only to replace them but to be ready for summer camp this summer. Congratulations to Brett Dobrowski, Matt Sisak and (one other scout to be named shortly) on the selection into Leadership Corps. Congratulations to all who applied, you did a nice job on the interview process and just cause you didn’t make it this time, keep striving to be a leader in the Troop. With the graduation of these three scouts to Leadership Corps, we also looked at the patrols and we will be re-arranging those a little bit, this will spread out some of the little bit older scouts so they can all get a leadership opportunity AND to prepare the Troop for the influx of new scouts we will be gaining in the next couple weeks as they cross over into Troop 161. Looks like we will be gaining between 8-10 new scouts. We are trying to make contact with those who will be affected, and as soon as we get that taken care of, will make that announcement as well, hopefully by Monday.

Elections

This Monday will be election night, if you were interested in running for a leadership position, I will accept additional leadership forms up till 7:01 on Monday night. It will also be Order of the Arrow elections, the candidates for OA elections are Chris Krupp, Kyle Mallum, Konrad Schotz and Dalton Yonkovich. All have completed 15 nights of camping in the last two years and are First Class or above. (summer camp only counts once). If you feel you should be on the list, please let me know. Who from this group should be members of the Order of the Arrow?

Camp Fees due!

Don’t forget, camp fees are due this Monday, it requires a $100 Deposit fee. NOTE FOR PHILMONT SCOUTS, last week we announce a $100 discount, I was able to find another discount program which takes off another $60, that means your summer camp fee will be $160, that is a 50% off the original price, how can you pass up THAT deal!

Med Forms

Be sure to make an appointment for your med exam for camp, those will be needed to go to camp, don’t wait too long to make that appointment!

Plant and Popcorn Sale

We will be participating in the spring popcorn and then Plant for heroes, we will be kicking that off at the Court of Honor, be sure to be there to get all the info. If anyone MUST have the info sooner, contact Mrs. Miller

RSVP for Annual Dinner

All of you should have gotten an Annual dinner invite in the mail last week or two, be sure to RSVP to the dinner at T161annualdinner@mrfsweb.com or call Mrs. Miller, her number is in the invitation. I highly encourage everyone to attend and celebrate the accomplishment of our three Eagle Scouts as well as many Troop accomplishment at this event. We will be needing help at the dinner, if you can help, please let me or Pete Koenig know.

Advancement

This Monday is the last night to turn in advancement for the Court of Honor, anyone who needs a SM conf or BOR, please see me at the beginning of the meeting, don’t wait until the end of the meeting or we will not be able to accommodate you.

Philmont Meeting THIS Tuesday

Just a reminder to all those going to Philmont, there is a meeting THIS TUESDAY at CBTL at 7 PM. All Participants should plan on attending, parents are optional.

There is still room to add a two more scouts or adults, just a reminder, that the price will be discounted by $200 for an essay, and then you also can get $160 off summer camp if you plan on attending both. If those discount plans make the trip more attractive, please show up on Tuesday.

That should do it for this week, next week is PLC, then March 6th is Court of Honor, hope to see all scouts and at least one parent there on the 6th.

Thanks

Mr. F.
