Scouting for Food this weekend

This weekend we will be handing out bags for Scouting for Food on SUNDAY at 1 PM. We will be meeting at St. Rita and be distributed from there. We need help on this, we did not have nearly enough people sign up at last week’s Court of Honor, so be sure to show up even if you didn’t sign up. This is a great way to help our community, as the second largest food collection in Racine, it is extremely important to our community. Philmont Scouts, another great hiking opportunity. We also need

people to sign up for NEXT week Saturday, March 18 too. We can use you for both. You can sign up for next week at this week’s Scouting for food gathering.

Fire Department visit

The fire department will be at our meeting for a visit on Monday to show us some pretty cool things, you won’t want to miss it. For our new scouts, the meetings runs from 7:00 to 8:30 and parent participation is optional.

Annual Dinner

The Troop annual dinner in next Saturday, March 18th. The dinner starts at 5:45. It is important that all troop families who are attending remember the following was in your invite

Potluck Dinner Recommendations

Each troop family should bring a two dishes

to pass-Vegetable, salad, fruit or jello.

NO desserts nor Mostaccioli, please.

(10-12 servings each)

We do purchase the main entrées, but these extras will be important to the success of the dinner, we have over 130 guests attending and a lower number of troop members to provide these extra’s. If you are not attending but can do a dish, we will be at St. Rita most of the afternoon, feel free to drop them off, if you can provide dish(es) and not attending, please send me a note, that will help as we finalize our planning.

Road Trip Monday

Every once in a while, we take our Troop meeting on the road, our next road trip will be next Monday March 20th. We will be meeting at the Racine YMCA Sealed Air Facility off of Hwy 20 in Sturtevant for a swimming event. We will be taking this time to have fun in the water and also do the swim test for summer camp. If you are not a swimmer and just want to come and splash around, that is fine too. Come with your swim suit and towel for a great wet evening. Feel free to bring a lock or leave your valuables at home.

March 23- New Family Night

All new Families, we will have a New Family night on March 23rd at 7 PM. All new families should plan on attending. We are going to talk about how things work with the Troop, how to sign up for events and what are parents and scouts roles so that the scout gets the most out of scouting. For those who want to sign up for events or have questions between now and then, feel free to ask a uniformed adult or youth leader, and they will help you out.

PLC Meeting

March 27th is Patrol Leader Council meets at CBTL at 7 PM. This meeting is for all Patrol Leaders and Leadership Corps, the rest of the Troop has the night off on the 4th Monday of the month.

Med Forms

Just a reminder to all, don’t forget to get your med form filled out and turned in. Remember all will need a medical exam within the last 13 months of the date of camp. Even if you are not going to camp, we need to have a form on file on a yearly basis.

Thanks

Mr. F.
