Busy Weekend
First, this weekend we have Scouting for Food, we will meet Saturday at St. Rita at 9 am to grab routes and go out and pick up food. Hopefully we can get a lot of food for the needy of Racine. Hope you can make it! You can show up even if you didn’t sign up, Mrs. Hannemann can use the help. If we get a good turn out like we did last week, should be done in a reasonable amount of time. Food pick up generally is quicker than bag drop. Don’t forget, Scouting is required for the Service Award.
Second event this weekend, we have our Annual Dinner/Eagle Scout Court of Honor at 5:45 on Saturday at St. Rita. Here is the request from the invite.
Potluck Dinner Recommendations
Each troop family should bring a two dishes
to pass-Vegetable, salad, fruit or jello.
NO desserts nor Mostaccioli, please.
(10-12 servings each)
We will have about 140 people in attendance, so these potluck items are important to go along with the main dish, which is beef and mostaccioli. If you can’t make it to the dinner, but would like to help with food, you can drop it off after 1 PM on Saturday.
We will be setting up for the annual dinner at the gym, starting at 1PM, anyone who wants to come to help is welcome to do so as long as you stay focused on set up and are not running around and goofing off in the gym.
This Monday
This Monday we will have a road trip Monday to the Racine YMCA in Sturtevant. We will meet there at 7 PM. You should come with your swim suite and towel. We will be done by 8:30. There will be a chance to take your swim test for summer camp if you wish, which saves time when we check in at camp this summer. Other than that, there will plenty of time for splashing fun!
New Family Night
On Thursday we will be meeting at CBTL (436 Four Mile Rd) for the new family night at 7 PM. All new scouts and at least one if not both parents should attend. It is great way to learn about all the differences between Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, not to mention the ability to decode all these nick names scouting has for things like PLC and SPL and stuff like that. See you there at 7 PM
March 27th Meeting
March 27th is a Patrol Leaders Conference night, which means that is where the troop youth leaders meet to plan the upcoming meetings, the rest of the troop has the night off. Patrol Leaders, make sure you have meeting plans for your next meeting or two. Also for out big wreath sellers, don’t forget that is the night we are doing the pizza party prior to the PLC meeting.
Lock in Signup
Don’t forget, Lock In signup that was due last week but has extended to this week at the discounted price. Seeing we will be at the YMCA, please make sure you bring your info already done, so you can hand it in, we may not have blank fact sheets or envelopes available at the Y.
For our Older Scouts
There is a Life to Eagle meeting to be held at the iMet Center in Sturtevant on Thursday March 30th. If you are a Star or Life Scout and would like to go for Eagle Scout, you should sign up for this event if you have not been to one yet. This meeting will cover all the things you need to know to be successful in your quest for Eagle Scout. I hear the instructors are pretty good too.
We have a busy week ahead of us, but we also have a LOT of fun coming up too, hope to see you often over the next week or so.
Thanks
Mr. F.
