Ask Chris Hanna about this international Scouting event!
Patrol Meetings
I know that a couple patrols had patrol meetings this past week, hope you had fun and look forward to seeing the accomplishments from your meeting
This Monday
We have a meeting at St. Rita Monday at 7 PM, we will doing some things to sharpen our camping skills for the upcoming campout.
Med Forms
Don’t forget, EVERYONE is REQUIRED to have current medical form on file. They are due THIS WEEK unless you have told us you will be late. You can get that form HERE and you must do the entire form, including the part the doctor fills out, so if you have not done so be sure to get it done right away. These are required for summer camp and Philmont. If you have questions or are going to be late, Mrs. Smithers will be collecting them, be sure to let her know when they will be turned in or she may be hunting you down or you just might not be able to go to camp.
Campout is next weekend
We will be headed to High Cliff state park for our spring campout May 5-7th. Patrol should be shopping for food for their patrols this upcoming week. For our new scouts, you may be called upon to ASSIST in the purchase of food, it is a great way to learn those ropes. As far as camping gear you will need, you can find a complete list either in your scout handbook OR there is a gear list listed in the Troop Document section of the Web Page. A scout should BE PREPARED for all kinds of weather, it may be different than forecasted especially when we are on a lake.
Philmont Scouts
Keep up with training. We are going to be finalizing the total amount for Philmont so we can determine a final payment this weekend. You will be notified of that payment, watch the Philmont mailing list. The $200 you earned from essay will also be deposited to your account in April and applied to your Philmont fees. If by chance you have paid too much, you will get a refund.
NEXT WEEK!
Next week, May 8 will be another Road Trip Monday. We will meet (on May 8th) at the Racine Police Dept front lobby (730 Center Street). Officer Simon, an eagle scout from Troop 161 is organizing a great evening to find out what goes on behind the scenes of the police department, you never know, you might be called upon to solve a crime, including tracking down the suspect! You won’t want to miss out on this event.
That should do it for this week!
Thanks
Mr. F.
