This Monday..

Some have asked if we have scouts this Monday cause some have off of school for Martin Luther King day, and yes we do. This is one of those Mondays where is School is off but Scouts in on. Bring your mom’s or dad’s favorite recipe, part of the meeting will be planning menus for the upcoming Christmas campout.

Registration

Just a reminder to all that OA dues and Boys Life were due last week, if you forgot, still have this week to do it, but then that is it. Also adults, don’t forget that adult fees are also due. All those adults who want to be registered MUST have youth protection training completed. Regardless if you are registered or not, it is highly recommended that all parents take the course just so you understand the importance of the training. You can take that training at my.scouting.com and register for an account and take the training.

Annual Physicals

Don’t forget to make the appointment for your annual health exam that is required not only for camp but for scouting activities. You can find that on the Troop Documents section of the Troop web page, the link is located below.

Philmont 2019

Just a reminder if you are interested in attending Philmont 2019, be sure to get your deposit in, we need at least 7 people to confirm our registration. Info in document section of the web page.

Congratulations Troop 161

In 2017 we had almost 245 hours of service to our community for Eagle Projects, Scouting for Food, Festival and other misc. service projects. Way to go Troop 161 for “helping others”. Don’t forget we have an annual service award, here are the details.

To qualify for the Blue Service Bead for your FOB for Troop 161, you must participate in the following Service Projects: Scouting for Food, Bag Drop off or Pick up and St. Rita’s Festival Clean up

In addition to participating in both of these events, you must complete 5 additional hours of Service to be done between January 1 and December 31, 2017. These additional 5 hours can be for any service projects that you do within your Community, School, Church or any service that is offered by Troop 161. This form must be completed and turned in by January 31, 2018.
