Christmas Campout this weekend
Yes, THIS weekend is the Christmas campout, and things are in place for another great campout in Valders, Wisconsin. We will meet at St. Rita at 5:15 Friday. We will have both indoor and outdoor activities so it will be important that everyone comes with the proper clothing for outdoor activities, which will include, hat, gloves, and boots. Be sure to make sure your patrol shopper does the food shopping and that you pay them back right away. If you are the shopper, let their patrol know what they owe, so they can pay you (your parents) back on Friday before we even leave on the campout. The program for the weekend will include both organized games and activities and then some free time, so if you want to bring board games, cards or something like that, you are welcome to do so. During the course of the weekend Scouts will be accumulating points for the auction to be held Saturday evening, which includes $200 worth of new items along with maybe another $200 in used gifts from troop alumni, I know there are a couple pretty nice items, including a couple nice sleeping bags. The facilities are a heated dining hall, we will be sleeping on the floor so bring a pad or something to cushion the floor or a blanket to put under you, the floor can be a little cool. The building will be set to a comfortable temp, but for outside activities, you MUST have boots, it will be either snowy or muddy, so be sure to bring at least one pair or shoes/slippers for use inside the building. A note to parents, if you need to contact us in an emergency, there is a good chance that you may not be able to get through to my cell because service there is VERY limited, as a back up, the phone number for Camp Sinawa is 920-758-2615, you can use that for an emergency. Scout should check the equipment list and make sure they bring what they need, be sure to bring your Scout Book, especially those up to first class, we are going to spend some time making sure everyone is up to date with their book.
