Cyberchip
We will be doing CyberChip, which is a online safety course for Scouts. Looking through the BSA rank requirements, we will cover many different requirements for different ranks. There is some homework to do before Monday. Please go to this page and read up ahead of time and do requirements 1-3 and bring them to the meeting. https://www.scouting.org/training/youth-protection/cyber-chip/ . Internet safety is important and, let's do it safely. Parents, please have these discussions with your youth. This is directed at the 9-12 grade, there is another plan for 6-8 graders that is very similar to the 9-12 grade version, we are going to use the older version for all at our meeting, if you are younger, feel free to do the 6-8 grade videos.
Med Forms
Still a lot of med forms missing, if you have not turned in a medical form for this year, be sure to get that turned in ASAP. Adults going to camp, you will need med forms as well, don’t forget to turn one in.
Campout next weekend
We will have a campout next weekend at Starved Rock. For our new scouts, there is a good list of equipment on the Troop web page and the Boy Scout Handbook, be sure to check that out. We will be doing some hiking, so good hiking footwear is a good ideal. Patrol Leaders, Mr. Sisak is looking for menus and duty rosters to approve this week, be sure to have those done BY MONDAY before the meeting so he can check over them during the meeting. Don’t forget your duty roster too. Please plan on changing weather, its still spring in Wisconsin and the weather can change at a moments notice, might be both 85 and 35 in the same day, bring enough clothing for both. A scout motto is BE PREPARED, be sure to watch the weather and use that as a planning tool.
