Starved Rock this Weekend
Just a reminder to all, this weekend Starved Rock Campout. The weathermen are predicting rain, so I want to encourage everyone to be sure they bring rain gear and boots to keep your feet dry. If need to, we will rearrange our activities to be indoor events if the weather proves to be threating, our first goal is to keep our scouts safe. All Scouts should eat before we leave, there are no plans to stop on the way down, but the scouts have planned an evening snack on Friday, but it is not a meal. All Scouts should arrive at by 5:15 in their (tan) Class A uniform at St. Rita. Remember someone in your patrol purchased food for you for the weekend, be sure to pay them back, and if they call in advance, please be prepared to pay them Friday night. For our new Scouts, remember to use a packing list in your hand book, in the Troop guidebook or you can find a list in the document section of the Troop web page. Please remember, NO CELL PHONES or electronics by any scouts on the weekend events. Please plan on leaving those at home.
Monday is Advancement night
This Monday is an advancement drop in night for those who want to work on advancement. It is encouraged for those under First Class rank. Those above First class can arrange to have Merit Badge Counselors meet with you there if you would like. One of the Patrols asked me about having a Patrol meeting on Monday night too, so that might be happening.
Med Forms
We are sorting through the Med Forms received so far, if you have not turned one in, be sure to do so this week. If you have not turned one in, please do so. Adults that are going to camp, remember you need one too. Camp is requiring that all adults going to camp be registered and will need to fill out a BSA membership application, I have the forms at the St. Rita, ask for one, and we can get that taken care of as well.
REMIND
The Troop uses REMIND to communicate via text message, to get signed up to that text @T161BSB to 81010 and answer the return question. It will send you a reminder to pick up these BSB’s, weekly but also if we must communicate any changes to plans while on an event, this is what we will use, if we are in a cell service area.
