CHANGE OF VENUE
Safety is our prime concern for all Scouting events, comforts is a close second. Looking at the weather, besides being heavy rains in the Starved Rock area, there are frequent thunderstorms predicted (60-80% chance) which adds quite a bit of risk to an outdoor event. Mr. Sisak and I have been discussing ideas and have come up with the following plan, that we think all of can agree is a much better option.
We are moving the VENUE of this weekend’s campout to PENNISULA STATE PARK IN DOOR COUNTY, the predictions there are a slight chance of rain tonight (10%) and ZERO tomorrow. That is far better than the almost constant rain expected in the Starved Rock area. Temperatures will be cooler (45-65), but easier to stay warm when you are dry. It is also much safer when there are not lightning bolts dancing around you. All things as far as meeting times and such will remain the same.
Any questions or concerns, please let me know, otherwise, see you tonight at 5:15
