March 13th, 2020

We the Troop are not immune to the Covid 19 Virus, and our first cancellation because of the virus is the following information from the Council.

Dear Scout Leader:

With the recent news of the spread of COVID-19, the Scouting for Food Drive scheduled for this Saturday, March 14th and Saturday, March 21st has been postponed until later in the year. This difficult but necessary decision has been made with the safety of our Scouts and leaders as our number one priority. Potential concerns regarding the hands-on collection and repacking of food donations from thousands of households across southeast Wisconsin has informed our decision. We will share updates on a new date for the Scouting for Food drive as soon as possible.

Please know that we are monitoring developments regarding COVID-19 with our Council Health & Safety Chairman along with local and state health authorities. As this is an evolving situation, we will continue to update you on developments. We appreciate your understanding of any necessary adjustments in the interest of health and safety.

With the exception of the Scouting for Food Drive, all other council operations are continuing as normal. Our Scout Service Centers, Scout Shops and camp properties are all open and operating. Decisions about unit meetings and activities should be made by unit leadership and chartering organizations based on current local health department guidelines.

Thank you for all you do to provide a safe experience for our Scouts and the communities we serve.

In Scouting,

Andrew Hardin

Scout Executive

Perry Wyatt

Council Activities Chair

At this point all other scouting activities are still on as scheduled. We will cancel events if St. Rita School is canceled. As always, if anyone is feeling ill, please do not attend scouting events, but we are all hearing plenty of that via the mainstream media so we will not expand on it. If anyone feels uncomfortable about this arrangement they are free to stay home at any time.

We are still working on the details for the Gaming night, hope to have a fact sheet available at the meeting on Monday, the deadline will be adjusted and early payment will NOT be this Monday. We are shooting for an April 25th activity date, so keep that date open.

That is about it for this week, hope all stay safe and healthy, and if you are healthy, see you Monday night.

Thanks

Mr. F.
