Summer Camp News
Well we sat in on a conference about Summer camp on Thursday night and learned a lot about what the plans are for camp this summer. It will not be as it has in the past and some things will be very different including closing some parts of camp. On Monday from 7-8 PM we will have our virtual Troop meeting and we will go over the way they will run camp and get the input from all on their feelings about Camp Freeland Leslie 2020. We will answer any questions we are able to and find answers to those we can’t.
After the Troop meeting (Aprox 8 PM), the Troop committee will meet to make sure we can meet the expectations of the camp plans. Any parents are welcome to attend the meeting, but we encouraging any adult who plans on attending camp to participate in the committee meeting. After the committee meeting, we will fill in everyone and then ask you to make some type of commitment to attend camp (or not) by the June 15th Troop meeting. This will probably include making the final payment. If you already know you will not be attending camp this summer, please let ME know, because we want to make sure we get info to all involved and get your input. Anyone who decides to cancel will be eligible for a full refund until at least the 15th of June.
Thanks for your patience on this whole camp situation, but data is coming out slow to us as well, as they have been waiting to see what about three or four groups have to say about safety at camps, including the CDC and the National Camp Accreditation program. Also monitoring local and state requirements.
Looking forward to seeing both Scouts and Parents at the virtual meeting on Monday night. See you email for the log in info.
Thanks
Mr. F.
