Busy Weekend
We have busy weekend with our Annual Dinner and Eagle Court of Honor. We need help with decorating in the St Rita School Gym at 10 Am on Saturday Morning. We will work till we are done, it will be depend how many people show up to determine when we are done.
The Lunch will be SUNDAY. Reception will be at 12:30, Lunch at 1 PM and then Ceremony will start around 2 PM. You should have RSVP for the Lunch portion of the event, so we could plan on food. If you forgot, you are still welcome to attend at 2 PM.
Food Drive this weekend
St. Rita Boy Scout Troop 161 has participated in Scouting for Food for many years. The thousands of pounds of nonperishable food we have collected over the years has served the Racine Community food banks very well. This year the Scouting for Food drive falls on the same weekend as our Annual dinner so we would like to offer any of our guests an opportunity to contribute to the Food drive. You are welcome to bring nonperishable food to this event where we will have a collection. The donation will be made to a local food pantry on behalf of our five new Eagle Scouts in the spirit of serving others they learned through Scouting.
- Thank you for your contribution.
Here is how we will be handling COVID for this event.

Masks-The use of masks is at the participant’s discretion. We want to encourage those that are not fully vaccinated to wear masks (youth and adults) as you will be around youth that are not eligible for vaccinations.
We will have food servers to avoid contact contamination with utensils, we discourage guests from using serving utensils. All food service personnel (servers) will be required to wear masks.
We would like to encourage personal distancing during the event. The tables will be set up for SIX people per 8ft table vs the traditional EIGHT people to a table. We are expecting about 105 people at this time, we will be setting up for about 140 people to allow people to leave space between groups if they wish. When possible we will try to leave more distance between tables (but we want to be mindful of viewing distance to the stage).
This is common sense but needs to be said, if any guests have any signs of Covid, or been in contact with Covid recently, please refrain from attending the event as not to put others at risk. Our scouts are attending summer camp in a couple of weeks and we do not want to jeopardize that opportunity, they are really looking forward to going back to camp this year. Please keep in mind, we will also have some guests who are at higher risk and we ask you to consider them as well.
Temperatures on Sunday are predicted to be in the low 80's with reasonable humidity, but St. Rita Auditorium does not have AC, so we will be instituting the use of fans to keep air moving and guests comfortable. Guests who are sensitive to breeze may want to dress accordingly. While we expect our guests to come to the event dressed up, we welcome shorts for guest comfort (please refrain from athletic shorts, even though we will be in a gym).
Thank you for your cooperation in this manner, let’s be safe and considerate as we celebrate the great accomplishments of the Troop and our five new Eagle Scouts.
This Monday
This Monday we will be taking our swim test for camp. We encourage all to attend. Masks are not required at the Y at this time, but they are encouraging social distancing. As always, feel free to wear a mask if you prefer.
