Special Pre-Camp Edition

NEW MEETING TIME FOR CAMP!

Due to a new check in time at camp to reduce crowds we have a new check-in time of 3 PM so we will not meet at St. Rita till 11:00 AM SUNDAY. The Troop is providing transportation for all, no need to meet at camp. The following will driving; Sisak, Kozlik, Salchow, O’Conner. Thanks to the rest that volunteered to drive, at this time we have it covered, we will notify you if anyone has to cancel out. We have a few others meeting at camp as they have family commitments this weekend, myself included. Mr Sisak will be heading up the departure from St Rita, if you have questions, feel free to contact Mr. Jerry Sisak at 262-497-8633. Scouts should still plan on bringing a bag lunch, but may not stop for lunch till after 1 PM.

Are you ready for camp???

Just a couple of quick things for camp, due to Covid, we are requested that all Campers sleep in a tent of their own unless they are a family unit. Parents can not sleep with their youth. We will be taking the Troop Tents and the cots, so each person will get their own of each.

Masks

Just want to remind all that masks will be required for all those who are not vaccinated, which includes adults and youth. Be aware, we do have some participants who are in a higher risk category than others, so we may ask ALL to wear masks at times so bring them even if vaccinated. For those who are not vaccinated, please remember that you may be putting others at risk who can not be vaccinated because of their health situation, so please be considerate.

Chairs <-NEW ITEM

Camp is encouraging scouts to bring lawn chairs so they can social distance vs sitting at the picnic table, so we will support that but also understand that we will need to transport 25 chairs, so be sure you bring a bag type chair which you can also carry to the program areas. Be sure to put your name on your chair either on the chair or a luggage-style tag, something that is visible and durable. I would also suggest you put Troop 161 or Fort McHenry on your tag as well, something that lets people know where you are at camp, in case you leave it at a program area

Need a Packing List?

Don’t forget your scout handbook has a great list for packing for camp, you can also get one in the troop documents on the web page.

Don’t forget to look at the don’ts on last week’s BSB as well.

Communications

While at camp internet is spotty, but if we need to do any communications back home, will probably use the text or Facebook Troop web page. To be added to the Text List, text “@T161BSB” to 81010. FaceBook, search for https://www.facebook.com/Troop161Racine

Next Monday’s meeting

For the Monday right after we get back from camp, which is the holiday day for 4th of July, we will NOT have a Troop meeting.

Who is ready for some CAMP FUN???

Thanks

Mr. F.
